The Painting Daddy

I love seeing my father paint.

Sir Duke Ellington & Count Basie

This painting comes from a jazz set my father did some years back. There are 6 pieces, I believe. Some other legends in the collection are Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Sarah Vaughn, Lady Day, and more.  If you think you may have seen a piece or the group, you probably visited a jazz club called Just Jazz in the early 90’s in the Buckhead community of Atlanta. The art collection hung in this one of a kind place ran by some known business men (one being my dad). Just Jazz was one of the few authentic jazz clubs in Atlanta then. Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Chaka Khan, amongst others performed and visited the highly-spoken of venue.

Anyhoo, the latest one is coming along wonderfully.
